About Maria

My first contact with yoga was in 2004 in Brazil after finishing my veterinary degree. This experience with yoga would eventually become one of true love and passion. My practice of Yoga began as an escape from the stressful life as a veterinarian, which at the beginning was intended more as stress relief and later on it became a real love.

After moving to England, attending classes across various studios as well as exploring different techniques, yoga became deeper than ever before. As my vet degree is not recognized here in England which became a real frustration in my professional life, I went to yoga to find comfort once again. I had to reinvent myself, discover again a new career, something that I really love to do.

Yoga is a real life changing experience and today my passion and mission is to pass my experience on to those who need it.

In 2016 I decided to have my teacher training with the YogaLondon. Today I am a qualified yoga teacher. I found myself drawn to the concept of teaching as a means of connecting with and helping people in a truly useful way. My mat is the place where I feel safe, courageous and in peace with myself.

There is something so special about having the ability to connect with and contribute towards people’s lives from the safety of the mat – an environment which leads me back time and time again towards inner peace and self-confidence.

Having practised numerous forms of yoga, it is safe to say that my style is influenced by the teachings of my favourite instructors. During classes, be it Ashtanga or Hatha, movement and breath will be synchronized in a graceful flow. When conducting private sessions, each sequence is customized based upon the requirements of the student in order to meet their individual goals. At the conclusion of every session, pupils leave feeling renewed and positivity radiates from within – carrying these uplifting vibes into their daily lives.
